Lush Lawns
Timing matters more than you think 💧
Water between 6–10 AM. Less wind, less evaporation, and grass dries by evening. This prevents fungal disease.
Watering at night leaves grass wet for hours — a recipe for fungal diseases like brown patch and dollar spot. Avoid watering after 6 PM.
Most lawns need about 1 inch of water per week (including rain). Use a tuna can to measure sprinkler output. Deep and infrequent beats shallow and daily.
Split your weekly inch into 2–3 sessions. This trains roots to grow deeper. Sandy soil may need 3x; clay soil does fine with 2x.
🔹 Grass turns blue-gray
🔹 Footprints stay visible after walking
🔹 Blade edges curl inward
🔹 Soil feels dry 3 inches down
